Sony has expressed its satisfaction with the European launch of the PS3 and PSP video delivery service.
“We can’t reveal any specific numbers yet, but I can say that we are very pleased with the performance of the service so far, and that it has indeed surpassed expectations,” SCEE product marketing director Mark Hardy told us.

Nintendo has introduced paid video downloads for the Wii in Japan.
A range of movies, anime and other paid content from providers including Walt Disney and Warner Entertainment hit the company’s Wii no Ma Channel this weekend under a new Theater no Ma section, reports Andriasang.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced a list of content partners and movie offerings for its upcoming PlayStation Network video on demand service.
Set to launch later this month in France, Germany, Spain and the UK, with other markets to follow in 2010, the video delivery service will enable users to download content straight to PS3 and PSP.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced a number of new content partners for its PS3 and PSP video on demand service.
Lucasfilm, Cinetic FilmBuff, ContentFilm International, Image Entertainment, MPI Media Group and New Video have all signed up to provide content.
New offerings include films The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Powder Blue and Management, and TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Leverage.

Sony’s PS3 and PSP video on demand service will be made available in Europe later this year.
The service, which will enable users to rent and buy films in either SD or HD, will debut in the UK, France, Germany and Spain in November 2009 in other European territories in 2010, Sony said during its Gamescom conference.
